Money saving mama! Shopping at Rhea Lana’s consignment sale.

Raising children is expensive, there’s no doubt about it. You don’t need to have three sets of twins and a bonus singleton to realize that kids are money pits. From diapers, to braces, to that ER bill from little Johnny sticking a Lego up his nose, there’s always some expense when it comes to children. As a mother of 7, I’m always on the lookout for ways to save money. One way I save (and make) big bucks is through consignment sales. Besides saving money, consignment sales are also an environmentally friendly choice. I’ve been both a shopper and a consignor for quite a few years, but last fall I shopped at my first Rhea Lana’s of Tacoma sale. First off, I didn’t have to pay admission or register for a mailing list to get a free admission coupon– I simply walked through the door. The sale was clean and well organized in comparison to other local sales. Although I came on the last day of the sale, I was still able to buy clothing, toys, and books for myself and the whole crew. Due to individual inspection of inventory, and Rhea Lana’s guarantee to consignors, the quality of items for sale is higher than what I’ve typically seen in the past. Checkout was speedy to boot. Their next sale is coming up in March, and I cannot wait! I may even get my act together to volunteer for the event. Rhea Lana’s of Tacoma rewards their volunteers by early access to shopping, so I’d have first dibs at all the fantastic deals.

Even better than the amazing shopping deals is the opportunity to make money by consigning. If you’re interested in consigning, Rhea Lana’s of Tacoma has agreed to waive the consignor fee if you mentioned that Triple Twinning referred you. This sale I’m also consigning for the first time, so I’ll update everyone afterwards as to how that goes. So far it’s been way easier than other sales I’ve participated in. Want to learn more about shopping, volunteering, or consigning? Go to Rhea Lana’s of Tacoma if you’re local. Not in Western Washington? Rhea Lana’s holds consignment events across the country. Go to the main Rhea Lana’s page to find a sale near you! While you’re there, make sure you find out more about Rhea Lana’s. The business that humbly began in an Arkansas living room now has national franchises, and is all about moms helping moms. I think that’s a mission we can all get behind!
